Strategic Facilities Planning Study, Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia

This Strategic Facilities Planning study was undertaken as a result of the College’s need for a major expansion of the School of Dentistry, a Conference Center, and related facilities.

Options evaluated included renovating/adding to the existing School of Dentistry building while continuing the school’s full program and constructing a new facility on another site on the campus. Among other issues, the study identified a strategic decision necessary to avoid the duplication of a major capital expense for operating equipment.

Continuing consulting services included financing strategies and feasibility studies for replacement and additional student housing scenarios. The College also asked Brookwood to consider co-locating a number of existing functions located in several different buildings in several different locations on campus. This additional study consisted of a feasible total project budget and Schedule.
