Milliken - Carpet Tiles Plant & Marketing Center, Yonezawa, Japan

Brookwood provided project management assistance and guidance for a 100,000 square foot facility utlized for the final manufacturing and marketing of carpet tiles for the Japanese marketplace.

Working with Milliken’s design and engineering staff Brookwood established the program, design criteria, form of construction agreement, and established the overall project budget and schedule.

Brookwood then participated with the Milliken in-house team to solicit bids from five major Japanese Design-Build Contractors, resulting in the selection of Takenaka Corporation. The team then negotiated and executed the final agreement with Takenaka and collaborated on the final design of the facility. This was a Bridging method project.

Separately, Brookwood provided Milliken with a variety of consulting services and assisted in the analysis and resolution of a number of environmental systems cost issues in several of its US plants.
